Cut a formatted evidence card from any article you're reading, without leaving the page.

The DebateCardAI Chrome extension cuts a formatted evidence card from whatever article you are reading, without leaving the page. It opens as a side panel that stays docked while you scroll and cuts with the same AI pipeline as the web app, so an extension card looks exactly like one cut on the site. It runs on your DebateCardAI account, which means your card settings and your usage limits carry over automatically; there is nothing new to configure.

Install and connect

  1. Install it from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Connect it to your account, once. Open the side panel and click Connect. That opens the Connect page at debatecard.ai in a normal tab, running as the signed-in you, and hands your existing session to the extension. The extension never sees your Google password; it links to the session you already have. After this one-time step your settings and limits are in place and you stay signed in.

You need a DebateCardAI account to connect; a free account is enough.

Cutting a card

There are two ways to start a cut, both from the right-click menu:

  • Cut the whole article. Right-click anywhere on the page and choose "Cut this page with DebateCardAI." The panel pulls the article text for you.
  • Cut one passage. Highlight the text you want first, then right-click and choose "Cut selection with DebateCardAI."

Either way the side panel opens with your text and a claim box. Type the claim you want the card to prove, for example "Nuclear energy cuts carbon emissions faster than renewables," and cut. The card is cut with your saved app settings, so the highlight color, density, signature, fonts, and mode all match your web-app cards with nothing to reconfigure. When it is done you can pick a topic and save it straight to your Evidence Library, in the same format as the web app.

Copying the card out

Use Copy Card to put the finished card on your clipboard, then paste into Google Docs or Word. The formatting comes with it: bold, underline, highlights, and font sizes all stay intact, so it drops into your speech document ready to read.

Reporting a problem

The panel has a built-in Report an issue button once you are connected. Click it, describe what you were doing and what happened, optionally include the page's URL, and hit Send report. The report goes straight to the DebateCardAI team, so it is the fastest way to flag anything that looks wrong.

Limits and cost

The extension shares your account's daily cut limits. It is the same account and the same caps as the web app, so a card cut in the extension counts against the same free or Pro daily allowance; there is no separate quota. See Plans & Limits for the exact numbers.
