Clusion is a platform for a team running a season: rankings, evidence, coaching, judging, and tournament planning in one product system. Card cutting is one workflow inside that.

We are built for one debater turning sources into cards and cards into speeches. That is the whole product, and we think it is the better bet if prep is what actually eats your evenings.

So these two are less alike than the category suggests. If your team's problem is logistics, we do not solve it and Clusion does. If your problem is that cutting takes all night, that is the thing we have built hardest, and we would put our cutting against anything in this category.

What Clusion does better

Everything on the team side, and it is not close. They run rankings, judge reviews, tournament planning, and a coaching and judging marketplace with listed rates in roughly the $30 to $90 an hour range. We have no counterpart to any of it, and no plans to build one.

If you want to hire a coach without working your group chat, or your team needs one place to handle a tournament, that is a straightforward reason to use Clusion.

Their terms also tell you in writing that you must independently verify sources, accuracy, and citations. Not every tool in this category says that out loud, and it is the right thing to say.

One note on price: they publish a free-to-start answer and an $11.99/month cutter plan, but no full tier table. If you want to know what your particular use costs, ask them directly.

Where we go further

Getting the card in. Their cutter is paste-based, so you find the article, copy the text, and paste it. Ours takes a URL and fetches the article for you, or pasted text, or a whole queue that runs while you do something else. Style and highlight density are settings you pick once, so the card lands shaped for the panel you are reading to, and a Chrome extension cuts from whatever page you are on. This is the part of the product we care most about and iterate on most.

Finding evidence. Their index is 240,000 cards. Logos holds over a million from OpenCaselist and costs nothing on any account. You can search taglines, pull a whole answers-to file by block header, or use Deep Search to describe an argument in plain English and get cards that make it regardless of wording. There is also a Claude connector so you can pull real disclosed cards mid-conversation. On the evidence side specifically, we think ours is the better tool by a wide margin.

When the card does not exist. Evidence Finder runs a fresh search across the web and academic databases, ranks results by how cuttable they are, and cuts from any of them. No index helps with that, however large it gets.

After the card. Rhetorify condenses cards to what you read aloud, in-browser, no AI, nothing metered. Speechify writes the full constructive or rebuttal from the stack. Block Builder takes you from a strategy chat to a finished A2 block. Cut, condense, speak, in one place: that pipeline is the reason we would tell a debater to use us.

Which one

Pick Clusion if your team has logistics problems, if you want rankings and judge information next to your prep, or if you want to hire a coach through a marketplace.

Pick DebateCardAI if the bottleneck is turning sources into cards and cards into speeches, if you want a million searchable cards for free, or if you need evidence nobody has indexed yet.
